Clear Aligner Therapy

Invisalign in Buderim

Invisalign clear aligners at Sunny Dental Buderim straighten your teeth without metal brackets or wires — removable, comfortable, and virtually invisible during wear. Serving patients from across the Sunshine Coast.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made clear plastic trays to gradually shift your teeth into the desired position. Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks before moving to the next set in the series. The process begins with a consultation and digital scan at our Buderim practice — no gooey impressions.

What Can Invisalign Address?

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Overbite, underbite, and crossbite
  • Generally misaligned or crooked teeth

Invisalign is not suitable for all cases. A consultation will determine whether it is the most appropriate option for your situation.

Why Patients Choose Invisalign

  • Virtually invisible — most people won’t notice during daily life
  • Removable — eat, drink, brush, and floss without restriction
  • Comfortable — smooth plastic, no metal wires or brackets
  • Predictable planning — 3D simulation shows expected tooth movement before you start

The Invisalign Process at Our Buderim Practice

1

Consultation

Dr Louis or Dr Jeremy assesses your teeth and discusses whether Invisalign is suitable for your case. Digital scans are taken — no gooey impression trays. The scan takes a few minutes and is completely comfortable.

2

Your Treatment Plan

Using Invisalign’s ClinCheck software, you’ll see a 3D simulation of how your teeth will move from start to finish. You can view the expected outcome before committing. Costs are discussed in full at this stage.

3

Wear Your Aligners

Each set is worn for about two weeks, 20–22 hours per day. Remove them to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. Progress appointments are scheduled at our Buderim practice every 6–8 weeks.

4

Retainers and Maintenance

Once treatment is complete, retainers are prescribed to maintain your tooth positions. Teeth can shift back over time without retainer wear, so this step is important for preserving your result long-term.

Invisalign for Sunshine Coast Patients

Our Buderim practice on King Street is accessible from Buderim Village, Sippy Downs (near UniSC), Mountain Creek, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Forest Glen, Kuluin, and surrounding areas. Many patients find the clinic convenient given its location on Buderim Mountain. Easy parking, welcoming staff, and no pressure to make a decision on the day.

No Gooey Impressions

Digital scanning replaces traditional impression trays. The scan is quick, comfortable, and provides a more accurate 3D model of your teeth for treatment planning.

Progress Checked Locally

Progress appointments are held at our Buderim practice. You won’t need to travel to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital area or the city for routine Invisalign checks.

Sedation Available

If you’re nervous about dental appointments generally, sedation is available for consultations and follow-up visits. You don’t have to be anxious to access sedation — it’s simply an option for anyone who wants it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign uses a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners to gradually shift teeth toward their desired positions. Each set is worn for approximately two weeks before progressing to the next. A 3D digital plan (ClinCheck) allows you to see the expected movement before treatment begins. Treatment starts with a digital scan at our Buderim practice.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Treatment duration depends on the complexity of the case and how consistently aligners are worn. Simple cases may take around 6 months; more involved cases may take 18 months or longer. Your dentist will give you an estimated timeline after your assessment at our Buderim practice.

Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is suitable for many adults and older teenagers with mild to moderate alignment concerns. Some complex cases are better treated with fixed braces. A consultation with Dr Louis or Dr Jeremy will determine whether Invisalign is appropriate for your specific situation.

Do I wear the aligners all the time?

Aligners should be worn for 20–22 hours per day. They are removed for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing, and flossing. Consistency is important — wearing aligners for fewer hours per day can extend treatment duration or affect the final result.

What happens after Invisalign is complete?

Retainers are prescribed after treatment to maintain your tooth positions. Without retainer wear, teeth can gradually shift back over time. Your dentist will advise on how often retainers need to be worn based on your case.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Costs vary depending on the complexity of treatment and the number of aligners required. After your initial consultation and digital scan at our Buderim practice, you’ll receive a full cost breakdown before committing to treatment. We accept all major health funds with on-the-spot HICAPS claiming.
